Instagram recently announced a major update to their video and photo sharing platform. IGTV, or Instagram TV, will present users with targeted, longer-form video content based on personal interests and preferences.
IGTV is a new app designed to showcase videos that are at least 15 seconds long, built for a phone screen, and not limited to the one-minute mark of standard Instagram videos. In the new app, videos can be as long as an hour!
IGTV will provide an opportunity for businesses to connect with clients in a different format, utilizing more in-depth video content to present their organization from another angle. Instagram hopes this new venture will put them head-to-head with YouTube and SnapChat, but only time will tell how many users will adopt this new application.
